The Rhythm Devils began as the duo of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and his percussionist partner Mickey Hart.  Over the years, they transcended rock and roll drum stereotypes with polyrhythmic explorations of the world of percussion, using an extraordinary variety of instruments and approaches.  The aftermath of this collaboration was the larger Rhythm Devils, which have made periodic reappearances over the years. The 2010 version includes Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, Keller Williams (guitar, vocals) in July and Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips (guitar, vocals) on later dates, Davy Knowles (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum),  and Andy Hess (bass).  Together, they will take music beyond the horizon to a universe where rhythm is in constant flux and sound has infinite potential.

Country singer and songwriter Lee Brice walks a path between traditional honky tonk sounds and contemporary rock & roll; as Brice puts it, his music sounds like what would happen if Hank Williams, Jr. and John Mayer had a love child.

The rugged feel of steel guitar and fiddle, the images of growing up in a world of fields and farms, of heartbreak and hard work … You can’t miss the fact that Lee Brice is country all the way.

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have,or did, but as Badfish does.

The Southern Comfort Band was formed with one goal in mind: To bring true American Southern Rock music back to the people who love it. The boys in Southern Comfort believed there was a void in the music world and felt it was their duty to fill it.

The band prides itself on its authentic reproductions of classic Southern Rock anthems from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and others. The band's dedication to the music is unparalleled, which led them to rehearse tirelessly for 14 months before ever taking a stage. Once the band got started though, they were a runaway train, playing casinos, biker rallies, fairs, and other events all over the Eastern United States. The band even had the opportunity to share the stage with the legendary Marshall Tucker Band for just their third show. No matter where the band has played, audiences have been awed by The Southern Comfort Band's dead on musicianship and stage show. As one observer said, "If you close your eyes, you'd swear it was the real thing."

The band is led by the dual-guitar fireworks of Ricky Marshall and David Paul Travis, who fantastically recreate the guitar harmonies that are the foundation of the Southern Rock sound. Lead vocalist J.R. Jennings has been called "the lost Van Zant", he commands the stage with powerful lead vocals. The Reverend Chris James channels the late Billy Powell on keyboards and the rhythm section is locked down by bassist Stone E. Lee and drummer Fritz R. Kana.

The Southern Comfort Band is dedicated to the music and to its ever growing legion of fans. The band is a true Southern Rock experience that is not to be missed and surely will not be forgotten. Trainwreck has been described by founder Kyle Gass as a cornucopia of rock and a 5-headed hydra of pleasure. Truer words were never spoken. Over the years, the Wreck has dirt-farmed a sound that lies somewhere in the realm of Southern Rock, but with plenty of forays into Prog-Rock, Boogie, and straight-up Classic Rock and Roll, as well as absurdist comedy banter and lyrics derived from the characters they’ve developed within the band. Always an unforgettable time, their shows have earned them fans all of over the globe, headlining venues in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. As a support act they’ve primed fans for sets by The Reverend Horton Heat, Vida Blue (Page from Phish), and Blues Traveler. The Wreck has also performed on The Jimmie Kimmel Show, and done guest spots for Current TV.

On March 2nd, 2010 they released their long-awaited and much-hyped debut album, “The Wreckoning.” 15 tracks of what they call “Wreck and Roll.” It’s a sound all their own, cultivated from their influences, steeped heavily in the classics, and modified with their own unique set of talents. Fronted by biker-hayseed Darryl Donald (”Lee” of Tenacious D, or JR), and Kyle Gass (aka Klip Calhoun), and containing most of Tenacious D’s live/studio band (John Shredman, Boy Johnny, and Dallas St. Bernard), expect to see Trainwreck in your town in 2010 as they conquer the earth in support of The Wreckoning, and leave in their wake melted faces, busted ear-fannies, and the occasional bastard child.

With idealistic spirit, a powerhouse live show, and bigger than big hair, the Alarm were part of an early-'80s wave of bands, who dealt in soaring anthems inspired by the righteous idealism of punk. Clearly influenced by the impassioned political fervor of the Clash, the Alarm also worked in a mostly acoustic, folk-punk vein that provided a counterpoint to their hard-driving guitar rockers. Their stage look was unquestionably a product of the '80s, with enormous spiked-up hair accompanying a cowboy/old-time cavalry wardrobe. Yet the numerous comparisons to U2 in the press were not unfounded; despite a more conservative sonic palette, the Alarm had much the same earnest intensity, the same messianic ambitions, even the same vague spirituality. Likewise, the Alarm seemed to covet a mainstream breakthrough in the vein of The Joshua Tree's conquest of the pop charts, and polished up their sound accordingly, with mixed creative results. The British music press habitually savaged their records as derivative and pretentious, but this meant little to their zealous following who supported the band to the tune of over 5 million sales worldwide and 16 Top 50 UK singles. www.thealarm.com

Grammy Award Winning Singer Betty Wright  proved to be a consistently strong presence on the soul music age since the age of 13.  The Miami native enjoyed her first success n the 70's as a backup singer and soon she released her own solo singles (scoring a Top 40 hit the same year with "Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do") and albums (My First Time Around). Several years later Wright enjoyed  her next substantial hit and it proved to be worth the wait when 1972's "Clean Up Woman" peaked at number two on the R&B and number six on the pop charts. In 1974, Wright received a Grammy Award for the song "Where Is the Love?"

Wright steadily continued to issue albums throughout the decade, including such standout titles as 1975's Danger High Voltage (which spawned three R&B hits, "Shoorah! Shoorah!," "Where Is the Love?," and r&b classic "Tonight Is the Night") and 1978's Betty Wright Live. 1981's hit collaboration with Stevie Wonder, "What Are You Gonna Do With It?," proved to be one of Wright's most recent hits. Wright  continued issuing albums throughout the '80s and '90s, in addition to trying her hand as a television talk show hostess, an appearance on MTV's "Making of the Band"  and contributing backing vocals to a wide variety of other artists such as Erykah Badu, Regina Belle, David Byrne, Jimmy Cliff, Gloria Estefan, Inner Circle, Millie Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Johnny Mathis, etc. The early 21st century saw the release of Wright's first all-new studio album in several years, 2001's Fit for a King, as well as the fine 16-track career overview The Very Best of Betty Wright.

Come join Betty Wright for a rare one-night only appearance as she graces the stage at Showcase Live for the first time. Dinner will be served and the night will include a special opening performance from one of soul music's most under rated virtuosos Betty Wright's brother Milton Wright.

Fidelity!, the gutsy, raw debut album from JP, Chrissie, & The Fairground Boys, is an epic love story, albeit not a conventional one. Everything you need to know about the heartbreaking, but ultimately uplifting and fruitful relationship between The Pretenders leader Chrissie Hynde and Welsh singer-songwriter JP Jones is contained within Fidelity!’s 11 songs — from passion and desire, to sadness and acceptance.

Of course Hynde, a fiercely truthful songwriter, and committed animal-rights activist, has never been one to mince words. She has been beloved for decades by fans around the world for what one critic has called her “steely exterior and disarming emotional vulnerability.” Hynde has met her match in JP Jones. The 31-year-old musician hails from Porthcawl, a holiday resort in Wales that is home to seven beaches and a large caravan park near where his mother settled after growing up on a traveling fairground.

Gregarious by nature, Jones approached Hynde at a party in London in November 2008 without any trepidation. “I’m good like that,” he says. “I can speak to anyone. I just wanted to tell her I thought she was awesome. I said, ‘Lechyd da,’ which means ‘Cheers’ in Welsh.” Propping up the bar and five screwdrivers in, Hynde remembers being approached by “some scruffy-looking guy,” she says. “He was pretty hammered too, but we managed enough of a conversation for me to ascertain that he was a musician who had recently gone solo after his band split, and that he grew up on a fairground in Wales.”

Jones texted her within a few days wishing her “All the fairground luck for your show tonight.” She replied: “Write a song called ‘Fairground Luck.’” So he did (“Fairground Luck” appears on Fidelity!) and sent it to her the next day. “His voice stopped me in my tracks — what a voice!” Hynde says. “And the song was like something I’d never heard before — I was totally seduced.” When Hynde returned to London, the two went to see Jones’ friends’ band Big Linda, three of whom are now The Fairground Boys.

British progressive band of the early '70s, the Strawbs differed from their compatriots -- principally in that their sound originated in English folk music, rather than rock. Founded in 1967 as a bluegrass-based trio called the Strawberry Hill Boys by singer/guitarist Dave Cousins, the group at that time consisted of Cousins, guitarist/singer Tony Hooper, and mandolinist Arthur Phillips, who was replaced in 1968 by Ron Chesterman on bass. That same year, the group -- now rechristened the Strawbs, and doing repertory well beyond the bounds of bluegrass music. 2008 saw the original lineup from the Hero and Heroine era returning to the studio to record The Broken Hearted Bride, a return-to-form effort that solidified the band's staying power. www.strawbsweb.co.uk/

There's no question why they gave Joe Kubek the nickname "Smokin'." He's one of the hottest electric guitar players on the blues scene today. Kubek has the technique and the chops to burn up any stage and has been doing so since the 1970's when he began frequenting the Dallas bar scene, playing with Stevie Ray Vaughan and people like the three Kings, B. B., Albert and Freddie. He settled into playing rhythm guitar behind Freddie King for a while, until King's death in December 1976.

Kubek didn't hit his stride, however, until he teamed up with jazz guitarist and singer Bnois King in 1989. This union began during a regular Monday-night gig in Dallas when Kubek invited King to sit in and found that King's softer, jazz-based guitar and vocals perfectly complemented Kubek's headier rock-inspired guitar work. The combination just clicked, resulting in a tasteful blending of differing styles with satisfying, fiery results.

The two formed a band and have been playing, touring, and recording together ever since. "We've pretty much been on the road since the first album came out -- we go home for a minute and get back out on the road again," Kubek says. "We've been traveling steady for a little over fifteen years now... but I count my blessings. A lot of people can't do this. It's rough sometimes but it's a neat thing to be able to do."

ERIC SARDINAS - With legions of corporate-fueled, musical puppets littering our stages and airways, originality has become virtually extinct within the landscape of today's popular music. Fortunatly there's Eric Sardinas. His unique sound and honest delivery are breathing life back into the lungs of a stale industry on the verge of collapse. Sardinas is both a welcome reminder of the finest unfiltered music from an era bygone, as well as, a glimpse into a future realm of infinite sonic liberty. He's a courageous trailblazer who's constant repudiating routine limits and challenging all genre inherent boundaries with his wild innovations. So, - if you find yourself understandably lost and aimlessly drifting through a sad sea of musical mediocrity... find Eric Sardinas. www.smokinjoekubek.com/

After going on a number of headlining and co-headlining US tours (Johnny Lang, Collective Soul, Great Big Sea and others), the quintet settled down to record Real World - an album influenced by their predecessors (Waterboys/Pogues/U2/Big Country) and most importantly, life on the road. From Irish-flavored anthemic rock to rowdy pub tunes, lead singer Keith Roberts voice is stronger than ever and the songwriting, performance, and production show a new maturity and artistic ambition. Roberts notes, "Since Absolutely, we've become a much tighter band. It's the first time we've had the same members for two albums in a row, plus we've had the benefit of relentless touring. I think those two factors have really come together to make us sound and write better." During the interlude between Absolutely and Real World came another event which drew the band in. Roberts underwent a throat surgery which required months of vocal cord rehabilitation. "My surgery made us all aware of how close we came to losing it all. Our determination to succeed is even stronger than before," he reflects.

ACCEPT - Life, So the saying goes - starts with a birthday doesn't it? But in ACCEPT's case an exact birthday is hard to pinpoint. There had been a band named ACCEPT in existence since the early 1970's. Founded by Udo Dirkschneider, they had been playing on an amateur level in and around their hometown of Solingen, Germany. Although they had professional ambitions, things moved along slowly. Members came and went as they tried to find their identity and write their own songs.

The band's image, especially their live shows, sent a clear message: No mercy for the wicked - if one wanted to survive this - they'd better be prepared for an earthquake. The brutality of the guitar attacks and the driving power of drums and bass made this band a cornerstone for a new musical style that was defined by a term sweeping over from Great Britain: Heavy Metal. http://www.acceptworldwide.com/

KINGS X  is critically acclaimed American Rock band noted for its sophisticated music (that combines progressive rock, grunge rock, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by African American Gospel, blues, and British invasion pop groups. The band's lyrics are largely based on the members' struggles with religion and self-acceptance. http://www.kingsxrocks.com/
